about

This track originally had the working title 'Circadian Rhythm', and was written with sleep cycles, breathing and repetition in mind. In this way, the track sits in the EP as a disruption of these things. The chorus points to how there's often a delay between an instance, and how our heart reacts. Where one moment we're ok, often the same feeling can affect us much more later on. The current title is a metaphor for these struggles and how only when we're face to face with it do we really 'get' it. It's in this moment when we realise paralysis of the inbetween's universality, how everyone at some point goes through the same thing, or how some people face it every day.

lyrics

Well deserved rest
Heart beating through
A thin layer of chest
Given into

My heart rate
Faster than a runner
My hearts delay
Longer than last summer

A cold sweat sleep
Fools the mind
Counting sheep
To keep in time
